Current profile
In 2016, 68.1% of East Arnhem residents identified as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. This compares to 2.8% for Australia for the same period.
In 2016, 62.1% of East Arnhem residents spoke an Australian Indigenous Language at home. This compares to 0.3% for Australia.
In 2017, there was a total of 71 Indigenous owned businesses registered in East Arnhem (excluding Nhulunbuy).
In 2016, the Indigenous participation employment rate was 71% (this includes CDP participation).
In 2016, 31% of persons aged 15 years and over in East Arnhem completed year 12 or equivalent. This compares to 27.4% in 2011.
